I anticipated it to be not solely about entrepreneurship, but also about building a vision for your life and some spiritual tidbits. I am not ready to open my private practice in therapy yet as I am still working on my PhD.

He also talks about how the Orville brothers began their business. It was an uplifting business book. Oct 29, Yoric rated it it was ok. I read the first quarter of the book, to clarify my ideas, to strengthen my visions and reasons in making a business.
But it wasn't the book for me. I read common talk about it, but I didn't get any real insight. For example, the author is describing the importance of a vision, and the power it has, which is good, but there's no insight or exercise about how to make our own vision: "consider the wind—invisible yet powerful enough to level buildings. Even as it provides lift for planes weighing thous I read the first quarter of the book, to clarify my ideas, to strengthen my visions and reasons in making a business.

To be fair, after a few pages of reading I knew I was not going to be impressed by the book. The writing style is so repetitive, they where times I was like "get to the point already" it really feel like Bishop Jakes rumbles alot. As a black African woman I don't really resonate with those sections and some of the basis of taking up the need to soar, there is a culture barrier in that regard. Inaddition it seems like he uses bible passage to make his entrepreneurial points.
This is because he eisegesis instead of exegesis when it comes to biblical interpretation. Beyond that there is nothing new being stated in terms of building your business endeavour, only the story of the Wright brothers has been stretched to a length I didn't know was possible. Jan 18, Megan Price rated it liked it. I saw this book marketed on Dr. Phil and I was intrigued by the title. I was disappointed that the main focus on the book was starting, running, maintaining and succeeding at business, since nothing about business is mentioned on the cover or jacket.
However, I continued to read the book and picked up a few interesting concepts and enjoyed some of the short stories relating to T. Jake's life and childhood.
